This is how you plan your wedding

JR + Cassidy

JR and Cassidy were Wed on April 29th, 2023 surrounded by friends, family, and the many horses that reside at Sullivan Barn. Their Wedding Day was full of laughter, love, and memories that will last a lifetime for the couple and their loved ones. Here’s their story:

JR and Cassidy met for the first time back in 2018 at a Barrel Race they were both competing at in Perry, Georgia. With both of them competing year-round all over country, the couple had seen each other around at previous competitions and already knew of one-another. But being that Cassidy is from Alabama and JR is from Mississippi, they never actually had the chance to connect. It wasn’t until that one night in Perry, Georgia, where they were hanging out with some mutual friends, that the couple connected for the first time. They spent the evening chatting, getting to know one other, and celebrating their wins from the Barrel Race that day. They were not sure if they would ever see each other again, so at the end of the evening, Cassidy and JR said their good-byes in preparation to head back to Alabama and Mississippi the next morning. This was the last time they saw each other… or so they thought.

Fast forward to 2020, Cassidy is now in college at the University of Alabama and JR is starting his career in the restaurant industry in Mississippi. The idea of the couple re-connecting seemed more out of reach than ever. But, on a random Wednesday afternoon in her dorm room, Cassidy remembered that initial interaction from 2018 and decided to reach out to JR via social media just to see how he has been doing for the past two years. They spent the next few days texting on and off and just catching up. It just so happened that JR was heading to Alabama in just a few days for a beach trip. Remembering that Cassidy is from Alabama, he invited her to meet with him for dinner. She agreed, met JR for dinner, and they have been inseparable ever since.

When it came down to planning for their Big Day, the pair knew they wanted their Wedding Day to be representation of who they are, their hobbies, and their love for one another. It was important to them for their Wedding Day to be personal and intimate. Each of these factors played a crucial role when it came to selecting their perfect venue for their Wedding. After touring Sullivan Barn, and seeing that it is a real-working barn, they knew it was the perfect place for them. The natural-rustic wood and stone accents was exactly what Cassidy was looking for to go with her rustic-chic design plan. They said their “I Do’s” in front of the barn under an arch made by her Dad from an old cedar tree. After the ceremony, they danced the night away to a private Velcro-Pygmies concert and surrounded by loved ones. It was a one-of-a-kind Wedding night that truly captured and represented who they are as a couple and their passions.
